My Favourite Paintings
Even though I paint them I don’t know that my opinion of them means anything, over and above anybody else’s opinion of them. But seeing as I am the one who painted them I’m guessing that I’m also the only one who keeps track of those opinions.
Anyway for whatever reason I am often asked what my favourite paintings are that I’ve painted myself. These are them. Most have not been seen on Irish KC before.
For dramatic effect I’ll present them in reverse order:
8. Sleeping Cat
7. Inter-City
6. Killarney
3. The Cabin
1. Cave Canem
Oh yeah, and the real reason I’m posting these is that I’m trying to get organised for re-opening my online art shop.
That means a re-design of the Irish Paintings page, with useful things like thumbnails and categories even, and hopefully some new things for sale at the bargain prices that only bloggers and their readers are used to.
#1 The Golden Horn.
go back to Instabul and paint.
now.
I like the Golden Horn one too.
Looking forward to your shop coming back.
I’ve always felt drawn to ‘38,000 feet’. But ‘The Cabin’ captures the old imagination, too.
I am honored to have one of your favorites hanging in my living room! We love the Cliffs of Moher painting. That, along with Doolin, is one of our most prized possessions. Thanks, Eolai!

Doc - I’d love to, though I’m not really up for traveling there by bicycle this time. We’ll see what happens - I have plans. I’m a great man for plans.
Sam - The hosting move has delayed things a bit - because I now need to use new shopping cart stuff, and because of the big backlog it created, but we’ll definitely get there.
Sugar - 38,000 feet is in the next batch, that I also considered listing, and includes the likes of Kinsale II, Four Courts No Trees, Conscientious Objector and a couple more that have never appeared on Irish KC. I’ve noticed I go through phases, and sometimes what I think of my paintings changes depending on how much or how little time we spend in each other’s company.
Aaron - Thank you. That very much works the other way for me; it’s always great to know that paintings have gone to a good home.
The Sleeping Cat and The Golden Horn are my favorites here, Eolai. Beautiful.
Thanks Medbh, and both of them are in the same place in New York.
