Little Updates
Things probably seem a bit quiet on here, though with all the Celtic Thunder it’s hard to hear yourself think.
I have actually made a few updates to the KC Irish Events Calendar, and there’s more going on all the time.
Also I’ve been working on something simple to bring some music to the IrishKC website, to complement many of the posts here, though probably not all of them as there’s well over 3,000. It’ll mostly be trad, and, well if you’ve been reading you’ll know. It should appear in the next few days.
Eddie Delahunt’s profile has had an addition to it of another option to purchase his truly excellent CD Original Sing. But not only can you buy the album from Music is Here (for the bargain price of 10.26 euro) you can also purchase downloads of individual tracks for 99 cent (of the euro variety) each.
Songs like Caherconree and Brand New Song should be part of your collection. There’s short samples you can play before comitting your credit card to getting converted from those American dollars, though frustratingly at times they don’t catch the primary melody.
The date for tickets going on sale to the Elders 2009 Hoolie has been added to that page along with other details.
And while we’re talking The Elders if you look at the KC Irish Events Calendar you’ll see the boys are doing a couple of fundraisers later this week. I’ll confess to being impressed that after all these years including successes in far and distant States, they keep doing these gigs for the local community.
I do also have a couple of other blog posts about Kansas City Irish affairs for today, and I’ll get to them in a bit. Actually I had them for yesterday and didn’t get to them then, but if I don’t fall asleep after the day job again they shoulod happen this time.
The real reason things seem slow on here these days is because I am immersed in painting at the moment. I’m writing this post from my studio in Ireland having moments ago put down the paintbrush from a new painting of Doolin. Next week some time I’ll be having a big sale for dirt cheap prices of all sorts of paintings, big and small, canvas and paper, Irish and non.
At the moment I’m surrounded by Irish townscapes and landscapes, Celtic crosses and carved stones, racehorses and Irish musicians, abstract paintings and mainland European scenes. Oh, and some Kansas and Missouri stuff. I won’t get any more specific though because I may not finish any of it.
The plan is for most of it to be very affordable to people who may have never purchased original paintings before. As in $50 and under. I’m toying with going with FREE shipping worldwide again. We’ll see.
Later so. 2 posts.
