KC Irish Heritage Thru Kids’ Eyes
On Saturday March 1, 2008 at 2pm KC author Pat O’Neill presents Kansas City Irish Heritage - through the eyes of Children, at the IMCC in Union Station.
It’s a look at Kansas City’s Irish immigration, tracing its history and heritage using the stories of 5 Irish-American children. It is of course family and kid-friendly, and the interactive presentation is designed to be interesting for all ages.
Pat O’Neill is the author of From the Bottom Up - the story of the Irish in Kansas City, and is an extremely well known figure in the Kansas City Irish community for his many years of work with the Parade, and the festivals through his KC PR firm, O’Neill Communications.
In fact over the weekend he told me some details about KC’s newest Irish pub, that I’ll be adding to the site shortly - to a couple of 4 relevant posts that have been temporarily lost in the recent webhosting move, but will be reinstated.

This event is one of many in a rich stream of events called “The Irish Season”. Maureen down there tells me that their Elders fundraiser gig over the weekend was fantastic, and that Saturday’s Michael Collins & the Revolution program by Mike Casey was also excellent and well-attendend - so much so that it’s worth repeating at a future date.
The presentation KC Irish Heritage Through The Eyes of Children is posted on the Kansas City Irish Events calendar.
