Kansas City Sign
I saw something remarkable in Kansas City yesterday. No, not THIS, which everybody in the entire KC metro area saw, including Tony.
No, I mean literally a sign - not smoke signals.
Once upon a time I used to photograph signs everywhere I went - on foreign travels, and wherever I was living, both official and homemade. Few things remind you that you are at home or not, as the case may be, like signs made by local people for local people. Maybe one of these days I’ll start posting pictures I’ve taken of signs around Ireland.
But today, without my camera, which was a shame given that black smoke filled the Kansas City sky, I was strolling along east 39th Street in -5 degrees centigrade (that really felt like -11 I’m reliably informed), when I popped into a shop. And there in front of goods was a handmade sign you couldn’t avoid:
Please Make Sure That You Have Money To Make Your Purchase
Sound advice, you’ll agree. So I put down the rather expensive box of chicken noodle soup and went back outside to enjoy the smoke.
