Kansas City on Irish Radio
Kansas City got a mention last week on the Irish radio programme Talking History courtesy of Irish KC.
While a mention on a show mostly about Hannibal doesn’t do much for anyone in Kansas City interested in Irish History, it should draw your attention to the quality of the programme which regularly does feature Irish History.
While the programme on NewsTalk does have a podcast, which is well worth following - subscribe here - you will get to hear more if you listen to the live broadcast/webcast on Sundays at 1pm KC time (7pm Irish time).
Case in point, the show is two hours long and last Sunday included a feature on The Anglo Irish Agreement. Bearing in mind that there have been so many Irish political agreements where people didn’t actually agree - including this one - you should know that this is the 1985 agreement that somewhow then Taoiseah Garret FitzGerald extracted from British premier Margaret Thatcher.
The podcast from last Sunday’s show however is just over forty minutes as it features the panel discussion on Hannibal only. So you don’t get the Anglo-Irish Agreement in it. That said the show is very entertaining regardless of whether you opt for the full-show or the shorter podcast. I think this is down to presenter Patrick Geoghegan’s skills in directing his panel and clearly communicating his enthusiasm for history.
So Brother The Younger is on last week’s show, and despite his knowledge of the A-Team he’s talking about another Hannibal. If you listen to the podcast (MP3 HERE) you’ll hear Irish KC regular commenter Bock The Robber get name-checked, but you’ll have to listen to the show to find out if he makes good on his threat.
And you might also hear if my brother will be talking with friends of Vin Diesel one of these days.
