John Lennon: “The Luck of The Irish”
Feeling nostalgic and completely inappropriate, I’m giving you Mr John Lennon from his album - well okay, his and Yoko’s album - Some Time in New York City in a sing-along-a-genocide happy clappy bittersweet anthem as presented by a Japanese TV special.
I had a reason for sharing this with you, but I’ve forgotten what it was. Please don’t go and kill any English people - that wasn’t the reason.
John Lennon was more Irish than your average Irish-American President of the USA, but that wasn’t my reason either. How are ya keeping yourself?

Loosely combining this and your latest posting (this is almost multi-tasking) - I always love flying to Liperpool’s John Lennon airport seeing his picture and the slogan ‘above us only sky’. More airports should have slogans and pictures!
Couldn’t agree more Conortje. I’m a regular visitor to John Lennon myself - the airport, not the corpse - and was very impressed when they renamed it - not least, as you point out, with their tag line.
I think I remember an interview with Lennon somewhere where he said that line was really Yoko’s and he should have given her songwriting credit on Imagine because of it.
And I do like that you can now fly from John Lennon to George Best. Does George Best have a slogan I wonder?
