Irish Talk Is Not Cheap
Continuing the theme of the current state of Irish affairs, or what things are like in Ireland right now, is news that mobile phone subscribers in Ireland have the highest monthly bills in Europe - twice the EU average in fact.
According to the report by telecommunications watchdog, ComReg, the high spending has more to do with frequent use than high prices as mobile phone tariffs are rated among the cheaper available
The report suggests Irish phone users could save money if they used landlines more as it claims prices are cheaper in Ireland than the EU average, but Consumer lobby group Ireland Offline disputes these ratings, claiming a different method of calculating costs would put domestic phone bills as the second most expensive in the EU.
As Ireland Offline’s chairman is Damien Mulley, I see no reason to stray from his opinion
