Irish Politician Less Popular Than Kansas’ Phelps Freaks
I knew that BBC documentary on Kansas lovely Phelps’ family would have an impact on home. And by home I mean Ireland, not Waldo.
From BBC land I have been receiving emails about Topeka’s Westboro Bapist Church since the Louis Theroux film was aired.
And today the recent winner of the title, for the second year in a row, of Ireland’s Best Blogger, and even more recent securer of a two-book deal, Twenty Major, has name-checked Phelps’ crazy little church. But following the Thatcherite principle of denying the oxygen of publicity, Twenty doesn’t actually name them.
If you’re not familiar with Twenty be aware that he liberally uses short words beginning with c and f. Mind you he also uses some really long ones beginning with b and t. And if you’re still in the dark and you still care, it’s an election year in Ireland.
And if you’re not familiar with Phelps, know that disliking Ireland is the least of his offences.
