Irish March Madness: Shawnee St Patrick’s Parade
On Sunday, March 16th, 2008, at 1pm is the 26th Shawnee St. Patrick’s Parade.
Hosted by the The Irish American Club and the Shawnee St. Patrick’s Parade Committee, the theme for this year’s parade is “Irish March Madness” which should help it stand out from previous years.
Tom Coffman of Deffenbaugh has been announced as the parade Grand Marshal, which I think means he can’t win any of the cash prizes being awarded in all entry categories. The awards ceremony will be held immediately after the parade at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 11221 Johnson Drive.
At teh post-parade awards bash the classic Irish-American dish, corned beef and cabbage, will be served and Dublin’s own Eddie Delahunt will provide live Irish entertainment for you. Everyone is welcome to attend, Irish or not, and the Shawnee St. Patrick’s Parade is a family event so bring everybody.
You can download the entry form from their website (It’s a word document) but one of the links didn’t work for me. You also have the alternative of picking a form up from the Court of Appeals Pub in downtown Shawnee.
This event is posted on the Irish Events calendar.
