Irish Cross Lost and Found
The story of an Irish cross. It starts in Kansas City and it ends in Kansas City.
The West Central Tribune has the details of Ryan Harper losing his Irish cross at a Royals game, and it finding him again a month or so later.
The story starts with a cross given to him by his mother before she died. Years later Ryan found a very good reason to pass the cross on to somebody else, but then he felt like he needed a replacement for himself after wearing it for so many years.
For months Harper said he searched shops for an authentic replica of the cross but was never able to find one. Then he took a look closer to his Kansas City home.
“There was this little Irish import shop,” he said. “I decided to take a look one day.”
After rummaging through the shop, Harper ask the lady at the counter for help. After describing what he was looking for, she pulled open a drawer behind the counter, opened the box and said, “We don’t like to sell it to people who don’t know what it means,” Harper recalled.
Harper knew all too well what it was.
