Walt Disney Wore A Claddagh
DeMolay was started in Kansas City in 1919. Kind of a young masons it creeps me out because things that encourage virtues make me feel icky, even if past members included John Wayne, Bill Clinton, and John Steinbeck.
Former alum of the Kansas City Art Institute, a man with no museum in town in his honour, Walt Disney was also a member of DeMolay, having joined in 1920. Last year a celebration of Walt was the theme for the Kansas City St Patrick’s Day Parade.
Disney wore a DeMolay ring but in the late 1940s replaced it with a Claddagh ring. One bought in Galway no less.
I never knew Walt Disney wore such a thing. But then I never knew that Rudy Giuliani wore womens’ clothes.
