The Saint of 9/11
On Monday, September 11th, the Tivoli in Westport will be hosting a special screening of a poignant new film, THE SAINT OF 9/11 which profiles the life of Fr. Mychael Judge, the beloved chaplain of the New York City Fire Department who died that morning at the World Trade Center.
Fr. Mychael was the son of Irish immigrants from County Leitrim. He was born as Robert Emmett Judge in Brooklyn in 1933 carrying the name of one of Ireland’s great patriots. Judge was a Roman Catholic priest of the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor where he took the name Michael (later Mychael). He became the seventeenth official recorded victim of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
This 7:30pm screening is co-hosted by Rev. Vern Barnet of The Center for Religious Study and Education. Tickets are available only through Open Circle.
