The Elders at GAIF 2007
Here’s a fairly new video of Kansas City’s favorite Celtic rock band, The Elders.
It was taken at the 2007 Great American Irish Festival and is of one of their most popular songs, Men of Erin.
Canadian Celtic rockers Enter The Haggis appear here with the KC boys, which is a sight and sound there’ll be a lot of in 2008 when the 2 bands tour Ireland together from March 1st-8th.
The GAIF calls itself “the fastest growing Irish festival in the world” which I suspect is something they plucked out of thin air. The World Fleadh in Ireland would be a contender for that dubious title. If you believe their figures last year’s inaugural festival was attended by 50,000. From zero to 50K is a fast rate of growth.
