Ireland Bangladesh: Maybe
For those of you not interested in another Irish horse-racing victory, I just know you’re waiting on the edge of your over-sized seats to see if Ireland can pull off another victory in the cricket World Cup.
Well, in their fifty overs earlier today Ireland posted a total of 243 for 7, and right now Bangladesh in response seem to be just tossing aside wickets and so are in all sorts of cliched trouble at 104 for 5 at the halfway mark and it’s their opening five batsmen who are gone.
Opening batsman Porterfield batted big for Ireland with 85, and in the bowling Rankin has taken a couiple of wickets again, for 39, and Langford-Smith has given up just 11 runs in his 6 overs bowled so far.
Update: Bangladesh 122 for 5 after 30 overs. They pretty much need a run a ball to beat Ireland which they have been doing, but they don’t have too many wickets in hand to help them through another 20 overs.
Update: Ireland take another wicket. Rahim is bowled by McCallan. The Banglas are 133 for 6 after 31.
Update: Mortaza is caught and bowled by Langford-Smith in a full toss. Bangladesh now 136 for 7 after 32. You really have to fancy Ireland finishing this now.
Update: Ireland win - Bangladesh are all out for 169.
