Enter The Haggis & Scythian to join The Elders in KC midtown Irish festival
The Midwest Irish Focus, in the form of its blog, is reporting that 2 Irish festival favourite bands, Enter The Haggis, and Scythian are joining the entertainment list of the June Irish festival in Kansas City that is Brownes’ Irish Street Fair.
This means the Street Fair, in 2009 celebrating Brownes 122nd Anniversary, has a very strong lineup of Celtic Rock and Irish music, joining its bagpipers, dancers, Gaelic footballers and more in an all-day festival on Saturday June 6, from 2pm-11pm.

From Brownes’ co-owner John McClain, Pete Maher of the Midwest Irish Focus has the story of Enter The Haggis and Scythian joining the festival:
John says that the two bands were slated to appear in Kansas City on June 6 but, once their promoter learned that The Elders would also be performing that night at the Browne’s party, it became much more desirable to perform with rather than compete against an Elders’ concert.
Enter The Haggis have been written about many times here on Irish KC, and are currently promoting their 7th studio album, Gutter Anthems - which is a great name and you can listen to it in its entirety HERE on BandCamp.
Scythian have also made these pages as frequent headline acts of major Irish festivals such as the Milwaukee Irish Fest and Minnesota’s Irish Fair.
Taking place on Saturday June 6, 2009, at 2pm and going on until 11pm, with a Children’s Area and Gaelic Football as well as Celtic rock and Irish music, and of course all the food and drink you’d expect at a festival, the midtown Kansas City Irish Fair at Brownes is shaping into a fantastic event.

$8 in advance, $10 at the gate
Kids under 12 free.
