Celtic Connections Festival
Speaking of the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow, you can keep an eye on some of the highlights in audio and video through the BBC.
The festival takes place January 17th to February 4th, 2007 and until you get there you can check previous festival archives. I enjoyed Richard Thompson last night.
Celtic Connections includes a ridiculous array of talent, mostly Scottish, but many Irish and plenty from the US also. Here’s a selection of names performing this year that you might recognize from elsewhere on Irish KC:
Mary Chapin Carpenter • Séamus Egan • Phil Cunningham • Clannad • Maura O’Connell • Heidi Talbot • Solas • Iarla Ó Lionáird • John Spillane • Frankie Gavin • Iain Anderson • John Cale • John Doyle • Béla Fleck • Mick Hanly • Four Men and a Dog • Lloyd Cole • Dervish • Luka Bloom • Chumbawamba • Odetta • John Martyn • Eddi Reader • Troy MacGillivray • Rosanne Cash • Lúnasa • Cowboy Junkies • Aberfeldy • David Munnelly • and donkeyloads more.
