Governor Stumpy’s Celtic Block Party 2007
It’s time again for Kansas City’s little Irish festival that is the Celtic Block Party in Waldo right by Brookside.
This is the 5th Annual Celtic Block Party at Governor Stumpy’s and it starts on Sunday May 27th 2007 at 3pm.
UPDATE: See Photos by Ellen
Governor Stumpy’s have told me that the performers would be staggered pretty evenly through the day, with an estimated start time for headline act The Elders between 6:30 and 7:00pm
Schedule
If you evenly stagger the listed entertainers you arrive at the following approximate schedule:
3:00pm Jim Cosgrove aka “Mr Stinky Feet” (You know, for kids)
4:15pm Tullamore
5:30pm Flannigan’s Right Hook
6:45pm The Elders
Location
Governor Stumpy’s is at 321 East Gregory on the corner of Oak, which is just perfect for the people of Waldo and Brookside, and in fact anybody else who wants to get a Max to Gregory and walk the few blocks over. Or I suppose you could drive.
The Stump has a very large car-park (parking lot) that slopes gently making a natural outdoor music venue, but very little shade, so I suggest you drink lots of beer.
It’s also listed as a “Rain or Shine” event. In the event of rain, I suggest you seek shelter and drink lots of beer.
Estimated Time: 3:00-9:00 pm
Admission
$5 in advance from:
• Governor Stumpy’s Grillhouse - 321 E Gregory, KC, MO
• Sheehans Irish Imports - 1412 Westport Rd, KC, MO
• Brownes Irish Market - 3300 Pennsylvania, KC, MO
• Doherty & Sullivan’s Irish Goods - 213 SE Main, LS, MO
• Locks & Pulls Inc. - 10333 Metcalf, OP, KS
$10 on the day
I believe kids are FREE (under 12)
As well as music there again will be food, drinks, Celtic shopping (using American money) and a Children’s Area. Kevin Ryan of Governor Stumpy’s and the folks from Locks & Pulls, Inc.run a great event. You get to see a couple of the top celtic acts in the region for a steal.
The 5th Annual Celtic Block Party is a benefit for St Vincent’s Operation Breakthrough, and is presented in associatin with the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Fr Donnelly Division
Confusion
Many people looking for information on the 2007 party have gone to my page on the 2006 party, assumed it to be about this year’s, and then reproduced it. I have seen last year’s schedule reproduced in several places as this year’s. Please note that the Stump have told me Fireside are NOT playing the 2007 event.
I see drinking lots of beer in my future.
girlfriend in a coma i know i know its redicolous..hehe
