Ged Foley in Missouri
Whenever you hear of any Irish music-playing band being described as a supergroup, do yourself a favour and go and listen to some Patrick Street.
Before he played with Patrick Street, Ged Foley was a founder member of The House Band and you might well have heard him, or seen him, play with Scotland’s Battlefield Band. It’s a ridiculously impressive CV.
Building up to the Tionól in St Louis next weekend, Ged Foley is performing in Missouri with Michael Cooney:
At Paddy Malone’s Irish Pub in Jeff City on Wednesday, April 1, 2009
At somewhere in Springfield on Thursday, April 2, 2009
At the Big Muddy Folk Festival in Booneville on Friday, April 3, 2009
Michael Cooney is well known to Missouri fans of Irish music. The Tipp uilleann piper was once a fixture in Columbia.
Both Ged Foley and Michael Cooney are teaching and performing at the St. Louis Tionól & Irish Music Festival on Saturday, April 4, 2009.
Just a couple of hours in a car from Kansas City and you get to hear some great Irish music, unless you’re Irished out of course.
