Gaelic Mass Redemptorist Church
Growing up in Ireland, Mass in the Irish language for me always meant either that you needed to catch the earliest mass because you were going hiking in the Wicklow Mountains later that day, or that you were in the Gaeltacht.
On Saturday, March 10th, 2007 at 5:00pm the annual Gaelic Mass will be taking place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church
In the one event of the Saint Patrick’s Day season that truely pays tribute to Ireland’s patron saint, the Gaelic Mass is open to all, regardless of whether they are Irish or Catholic.
Con-celebrants for 2007: Bishop Boland and Fr. Shea.
The O’Riada Academy of Irish Dance will lead the congrecation down the aisle, followed by bagpipes and the presidents of the various local Irish committees.
This event is one of the most popular of the season and you’d be advised to go early.
After the Mass you are invited to come by the Margie Browne Irish Supper at Browne’s Irish Market, 3300 Pennsylvania. Some of the proceeds are for the benefit of Redemptorist Center.
