Free Whiskey Tasting at KC Irish Pub
Brandon Bargdill, the bar manager of Raglan Road Irish Pub in downtown Kansas City’s Power & Light District, gave me a shout last night to let me know that this Thursday, Sep 3, 2009 Raglan Road will be having a FREE whiskey tasting of Bushmills products from 7-9pm.
They will also be having a raffle for a free whiskey locker (valued at $200) in their whiskey room.
If you’ve ever been a tourist in Ireland, then you should have toured the Antrim coast, second to nowhere in Ireland for scenery. Along with the world heritage site that is the Giant’s Causeway, you have the magnificent Glens of Antrim, Dunluce Castle, the Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, the picturesque towns like Portrush and Portstewart, and some very fine views out to Rathlin Island and over to Scotland. And in the middle of it all, is the town of Bushmills, where the distillery of the whiskey that bears its name is located. You’ll probably have been to visit.
Jameson is my whiskey of choice. Ordinarily. But whenever I fancy a treat - assuming I can’t afford a Middleton - Black Bush is my choice. Not that I ever say no to Bushmills white label original. Or their 10, 12 or 16 year old malts either come to think of it*.
Anyway, work out your favourite - and for FREE - on Thursday night at Raglan Road.
*Now that I think of it, I’ve never said no to a Crested Ten either. And I’m ok with a Gold Label. And a Paddy.
