Do the Irish in Ireland listen to American Rock music?
Yes.
If you go back thirty and forty years they didn’t listen to as much as they do today - for two reasons:
A) Communications. The ould internet and satellite television, and movies and the like, all spreads American Rock music more easily than before.
B) Distribution. Once upon a time the music released on one side of the Atlantic was not the same as that released on the other side. The same band would have different singles released or the same single but in different years.
Consequently some older staples of American Rock are not that well known in Ireland, whereas other examples will be found on CD and vinyl even in almost every house in the country.
Traditionally the Irish in Ireland tend to listen to more American Rock than their British neighbours. This is because of the generally evil conservative taste common to both countries as exemplified by guitar music.
