Cole Camp, MO Irish / Celtic Festival
Cole Camp, Missouri, where Benton County’s Ozarks and prairies meet, is having its 4th Irish / Celtic Festival this coming weekend, Saturday, March 31, 2007
Refreshingly promoted as an annual event in a German community, the festival takes place from 11:00am until 5:00pm at the Jaycee Beer Gardens:
It is a city wide celebration where the shops in town have special sales, the resturants have special fares, and many spring oriented activities are held during the day long event. The events have started with a fun parade through the downtown streets, ending up at the Jaycee Beer Gardens. There is fun activities for the kids, and Irish music for all to enjoy.
Kansas City’s own Flannigan’s Right Hook are performing this year, as are the famous German Singers, who I haven’t heard of despite their fame. FRH have themselves down as performing at 1pm with the tag line for the festival of “Irish Roots and Cowboy Boots”
If you look at photos for previous years to get a feel for it, you’ll spot Mike Dugger and Turlach Boylan of Kansas City’s Glen Road and Kelly
I believe it’s FREE, but for more information on this year’s festival, you could try this number: 660-668-2295
Talk about nice! Flannigan’s Right Hook are the nicest young men you could hope to meet, and all the way in Cole Camp. They are gentlemen and sincere. I want to thank the singer and the drummer for sitting down and talking to my mother the way they did. It’s so nice to see young people who actually take the time to make someone’s day very special. Hope to see them next year!
