Cole Camp Missouri Irish Festival Reviewed
The Cole Camp Missouri Irish Festival over the weekend got a write up
Started 5 years ago by Tara Walker and her husband, Storm, after they moved from Kansas City to the German community that is Cole Camp, Missouri the Festival takes place the 1st weekend in April because it’s easier to get Irish entertainment to come to Cole Camp that weekend than around St Patrick’s Day.
Some of the entertainment included Irish songs by the Cole Camp German Singers, Irish balladeer Rob Gavin and Kansas City Celtic band, Flannigan’s Right Hook.
“I always have a great time singing at the Irish Festival,” said Vernon Stelling, one of the German Singers. “We don’t sing in a brogue, though sometimes I think we should, but some of us put a little Irish flare into the songs.”
Flannigan’s Right Hook also played the Cole Camp Missouri Irish Fest in 2007, and previous years have seen Irish music performers from Kansas City such as Mike Dugger and Turlach Boylan.
And just for the record, Vernon you shouldn’t.
