Christmas, It Did Happen To A Bishop
Do you remember Christmas when we talked about the lovely story concerning the Bishop of Southwark after an Irish party in England?
At the time it reaffirmed my faith in humanity, religion, and innocence. And wine.
Well the Archbishop of Canterbury, another nice man, has now decided that no further action will be taken against the Bishop of Southwark
The original story also prompted me to tell you a three part story of what a Christmas Party did to me in England. Assuming I’m telling the truth that is. It too is a lovely story, and one that illustrates what being an Irish emigrant is often about:
• Drunken Christmas Story Part I
• Drunken Christmas Story Part II
• Drunken Christmas Story Part III
I read the whole thing, Eolai, and it’s my kind of yule-tide tale. Long on reflection and perspective but not saccharine. Oh, your poor liver though.
Luckily though Medbh, Christmas comes but once a year. As does Paddy’s Day, and about 363 other days in the year.
