Charms & Delahunt for Bloomsday 2007
Tom Shawver of Bloomsday Books tells me that Eddie Delahunt is confirmed for his annual performance at the FREE mini-festival that is the Bloomsday celebration.
Tom also tells me that The Lucky Charms will be making their debut at the big Joycean party this year.
Irish Music Schedule:
11:30am The Lucky Charms
1:00pm Eddie Delahunt
Probably like last year there will be a harpist playing throughout the day also. But even if not, here are 20 Reasons for going to Bloomsday at Bloomsday.
NOTE: The event takes place at Crestwood - that’s 55th Street on the block between Brookside Boulevard and Oak - NOT downtown. The address in the ad for the event in the Midwest Irish Focus is an old address for the bookstore.
With Bloomsday falling on a Saturday in 2007 the party will all take place on the one day, June 16.
The reading spots are all booked, but you never know, sometimes stand-bys are required. The high point of the day is always the play, which is performed in and amongst you. The play, Ulysses in Night-town starts at 9pm - 12 hours after readings from the book start.
Location: Bloomsday Books is located at 313 E. 55th St., near the intersection of 55th and Brookside Boulevard in the historic Crestwood Shops.

Previous Bloomsday Entertainers
I believe Eddie Delahunt has played all Bloomsday celebrations at the bookstore, and other performers have also appeared, such as The Kelihans, and the O’Riada Irish Dancers.

Literary Festival
Tom & Nancy Shawver this year were recently heavily involved in the inaugural and very successful Kansas City Literary Festival on May 19 which had Malachy McCourt and Larry Kirwin among the authors appearing.
Can’t wait, two times to see Eddie Delahunt and the Lucky Charms in one day.
I plan to swing by, armed with my lil’ camera!
