Ar Ais Arís
Okay, I’m back in Ireland again. What day is it?
It doesn’t help me readjust when I’m watching Debbie Harry perform live on the Late Late. When did she become a blue rinse bombshell?
Quick weather report: It’s freezin’.
RyanAir are getting worse. Or better. In London when queuing up to check in at Stansted they tried to flog credit cards to anybody resident in Ireland. There was a free flight in it for me, but given that this week’s flights cost me a penny each (I forget in which currency) I declined.
They also were flogging transport from Dublin Airport into Dublin city centre - in London. I decided to settle for the 16A.
Shortly after flying over the north coast of Dublin whilst looking over a very beautiful Howth Head and harbour, and a softly striking Sugarloaf and the Wicklow mountains, the plane landed and the man behind me asked if my jumper was a Woollen Mills sweater.
It isn’t, and I was glad I was wearing it when I stepped out into Dublin’s sunshine and bitter wind, which was only more bitter as I walked through town, and freakily cold I thought walking in Dublin West with my head stuck in KC’s summer and Britain’s recent warmth.
The weather on RTE says it’s 1 degree centigrade tonight. That’s about 34 degrees Fahrenheit, so the cold wasn’t down to sleep deprivation, and anyway I’ve been sleeping in trains, planes and places of public worship.
Speaking of television, when did we get a Channel 6?
Anyway, enough rambling. As the title says I’m back again so from now I will set about getting back to normal. And that should be fun for all of us because I’ve no idea what normal is going to be.
Sure don’t ye know that ‘normal’ is a morning cuppa ,a boiled egg a bit eh toast, de paper and “welcome home son, welcome home !” Enjoy ..Eddie.
Welcome back! I hope it all goes well. I will be watching with a special interest as I am considering a return also.
I bet you’re thrilled to be home, Eolai.
Enjoy yourself.
Thank you all very much - we’ll see how it goes.
Out of lost loyalty I need to point out that the card flogging is not really by Ryanair but by MBNA - or Bank of America - staff… as for the transport… no comment!
Similarly the lottery card and phone card flogging on the planes are not really RyanAir products but they’re all RyanAir products. It’s only the RyanAir queues that are getting hit up like this and being offered RyanAir flights in return.
I’m expecting RyanAir to flog us Euros in London and sterling in Dublin, while we’re queuing, next.
Ah sure when i heard ye talking about the weather and the rain we had a bit yesterday for an hour and then it was bloody gone i miss the rain , i do. Sure its a subject in its self, even if you bump into someone you hate you can always say Here’s the rain instead of saying here is the bollox….cheers man glad your enjoying Heaven…
