An Irish Conversation in the American Midwest #24
Park
-Hey, do you want to go to a park?
-Okay
-Well which park do you want to go to?
-Em, how about the biggest park in the city?
-What do you want to go there for?
-Because you asked me to choose and it’s a great big park
-But there’s nothing there
-Oh. Well what park would you like to go to then?
-I want to go to the small most ornamental park in the city
-Okay, but being tiny by comparison isn’t there a lot less there than at the biggest park in the city?
-There’s swing sets
-True. But that’s also the park we’ve gone to the last five times we’ve gone to a park
-You don’t like the small most ornamental park in the city?
-No, I do. I was just thinking of variety, something different, of maybe a change?
-But what would you do in the biggest park in the city?
-It’s a park. You can do park things.
-Like what, are there any swing sets?
-Like just being there, walking around and seeing the things you see in great big parks
-But there’s nothing there but acreage
