Adrienne Young at O’Malley’s Irish Pub
On, Friday, May 9, 2008, Adrienne Young plays in O’Malley’s 1842 Irish pub in Weston, Missouri.
This is a very nice treat of high quality for fans of Bluegrass, Country, Old-time music, and straightforward American Folk music.
From Florida but living in Nashville, Adrienne Young has received numerous accolades and distinctions, including a grammy nomination for her debut album in 2003, Plow to the End of the Row.
As you’d expect, you can listen to a few songs on her MySpace. I’m quite a fan of I Cannot Justify from that first CD, thought the tracks from 2005 CD Art of Virtue, called Jump The Broom and Walls of Jericho certainly don’t hurt, and there’s a definite Country polish with a pop sensibility about the title track of the current album Room To Grow.
But then something like the classy Home Remedy all hte way back from the 1st album isn’t a million miles from the Indigo Girls.
Mike of O’Malley’s tells me that they will only charge their normal $5 cover - a steal. It sounds like an excellent night, and it starts at 8pm.
O’Malley’s Irish Pub is on Welt St in Weston if you’ve never been to this most unique of pubs, but to be honest Weston isn’t that big so just go here and you’ll find it. But take the this phone number in case you get lost: (816) 640.5235
