2-Day Irish Hooley at Lew’s Grill & Bar, KC, MO
Lew’s Grill & Bar, the people I like to refer to as our Welsh Celtic cousins, even though I don’t have any cousins from Wales, are this year having a 2-day Irish party hooley thing in a tent for St Patrick’s Day, March 17.
Last year, 2006, Lew’s Irish Hooley had the biggest tent I saw in Kansas City, and the Waldo Pub is boasting this year’s bash is the biggest in the city. Update (March 16): Here’s what the 2007 edition looks like from 75th & Wornall:
2007 is the 3rd Annual Irish Hooley for Lew’s, and comes again with what is described as a Beer Garden - on the asphalt of the tented parking lot of the southeast corner of 75th & Wornall.
The new first day of this Hooley, is called Green Friday this year and is sponsored by the Kansas City St Patrick’s Day Parade, who are having Brogeen Malarky introduce the Grand Marshall at 6:00pm

With all these Irish pubs going out of business, maybe that’s why we didn’t have a Welsh Hooley at an Irish pub on St David’s Day (March 1) where we could all have waved our leeks about, and been Welsh for the day.
