Weird Weather of a Weekend
Just for the record, here at 3am in Kansas City, the forecast this mid-April weekend is for snow in two hours’ time, and then later when the sun comes up the temperature is expected to be 17 degrees Centigrade (63 Fahrenheit) - which just happens to be the average summer temperature in Ireland.
When people come from Ireland to visit me, they tend to think in terms of the stability of Irish temperatures and ask me what the weather in Kansas City is going to be like, so this post is just a way for me to reply, I have no idea.
While the spring and autumn temperatures in this part of the world are always weird to be fair, i.e. they always swing wildly and sometimes by over fifty degrees Fahrenheit in a twelve-hour period, so far this spring I feel deprived of tornado warnings and the purkinje effect.
If we end up practically skipping spring and going straight to the oppressive and expensive heat of summer, I’m leaving.
I know how you feel - we’ve had temperatures of around 17 - 20 C here in Dublin for the past week and it’s downright weird…I may have to escape to NYC just for some cool weather
