The Music of Ireland by KC Chorale
The Kansas City Chorale is presenting a concert of The Music of Ireland in March 2008 during the week building up to St Patrick’s Day.
Hinbarra, Dúlamán, Wearin’ of the Green, She Moved Through The Fair and yes you’ve guessed it, the Derry Air, will all be performed in what is described as a celebration of Celtic pride.
NOTE: I have some tickets to give away for the 2nd performance.
There are 2 performances of the concert:
March 11 - 7:30pm, Tuesday - Visitation Church, 5140 Main
March 14 - 7:30pm, Friday - Church of the Nativity, 119th & Mission
The Kansas City Chorale is a professional vocal ensemble that through its dedication to excellence in performing music from diverse historical periods, enriches the local, national and international communities.
Now in its 25th season, the KC Chorale is a professional choir of 12 men and 12 women conducted by Charles Bruffy who has been artistic director since 1988. Recently the group, together with the Phoenix Bach Choir who Bruffy also conducts, won a Grammy award for best engineered classical album, “Passion Week”, by the Russian composer Grechaninov.
Executive director Don Loncasty tells me The Music of Ireland is going to be tons of fun (though hopefully not too much fun)
