The Gaf in KC on St Patrick’s Day 2007
The Gaf at Romanelli on Wornall in Waldo was wonderfully low-key last year in its promotion of St Patrick’s Day at a lot of people’s favourite Kansas City Irish pub. Then it was a case of a chalkboard saying something like beer & food, c’mon in for Paddy’s Day.
This year, 2007, for St Patrick’s Day however The Gaf are moving up a couple of gears. The windows are decorated. With giant shamrocks and dubious depiction of a leprechaun, though no less god-awful, much like its employment of that gibberish phrase “erin go bragh”.
However, in a big move, right next to its patio, The Gaf has a tent:
And what’s going on at The Gaf? The door had things scribbled on, like “Live Music” and “Irish Food”. So I reckon The Gaf is a good place to go for the discerning drinker who likes a quality place and a good time but not too much madness. For somebody who likes their tent a little smaller, shall we say.
