And speaking of things authentically Irish, here is - with singing supposedly in English, but I’ve given up efforts at deciphering because I need to go out and play with a drive-thru machine - a Japanese-Irish band looking like they should be in a Scorsese movie in Toyko.
They are called The Cherry Coke$ and this is Bullet For Vapid Beer, courtesy of course of YouTube:
And if you want to hear them play pipes and all sorts of wonderful stuff, well thanks to MySpace, you can.
This is better and more musical than an awful lot of bands I hear in North America who are trying to ape what the Pogues were doing twenty years ago.
