Shawnee, KS, St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The Shawnee St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place on the Sunday before St Patrick’s Day, which is March 11, 2007.
This year’s parade is a celebration of “25 Years of Good Green Fun”. It begins at 1:00pm and travels east on Johnson Drive from Monrovia to Nieman Road.
Parade t-shirts and hats will be on sale along the parade route and at Parade HQ the week before the parade.
Grand Marshall this year in Shawnee is Mary Brayton, and a very grand marshall she is too.
Latest reports on the Irish American Club of Shawnee website express a need for some volunteers for groovy things like carrying flags and all sorts of little jobs.

The Annual Great Duck Race is held immediately after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Plastic ducks are raced beginning at 4:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Shawnee Sister Cities program.
