In what’s being billed as the Broadway Series and Lied Family Series, the Boyne production of the Riverdance shows can be seen at the Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Drive, KU campus, Lawrence, KS

Now in its 12th year, though my mother told me it’s rude to count, the internationally acclaimed celebration of Irish music, song and dance that has touched the hearts of yada, yada, yada, comes to Lawrence for the very first time.
So if you haven’t seen Riverdance yet because maybe you’ve been in the US Penitentiary at Leavenworth for eleven years, well now’s your chance to boost the millions of Doherty and McColgan.
Refreshingly, the composer, Bill Whelan, in a recent article where he outlines his discomfort with Ireland’s mid-1990s Celtic Tiger, said he regretted some of the showiness and brashness associated with Riverdance. We all do, Bill. We all do.
