There’s all kinds of great Scottish stuff, like a full day of Harp workshops, Highland Bagpipes everywhere, storytelling, dancing, tug-of-war, a livestock display including sheepdogs, stuff for kids, and of course the actual Highland Games.
The Highland Games themselves are great fun to watch, Tossing the Caber, Putting the Stone, Throwing the Hammer, Tossing the Sheaf, and there’s others where you throw awkward pieces of metal around - well you don’t, you stand well back while large men in kilts do all this stuff.
The Kansas City Scottish Highland Games takes place at the E.H.Young Riverfront Park in Riverside, MO, on the north bank of the Missouri River just east of I-635 & 69 (east of Argosy Casino)
Friday evening, June 9, 6-11 pm
Saturday, June 10, 9 a.m.-5 pm
