Kansas City Moves To Ireland
Boys and girls, as we approach the hour of Friday, August 31, 2007, it’s a very big day for Irish KC.
Somewhere in the next few hours my world in cardboard boxes starts moving from Kansas City to Ireland. And somewhere shortly before then I will utter the words, The Teapot is Packed.
And the dog will look at me funny, not because I’m talking to myself, but because the dog isn’t a tea drinker. Yet. When I last lived at home in Ireland we had a Jack Russell that loved a cup of tea. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dog-dog feels a little left out on the other side of the Atlantic.
Of course I’ve already packed several tea-pots - never move country without at least 8 is a rule I have - but the one I’m using this very moment will rest its spout as the sun rises on Labor Day Weekend 2007. When you drink 50-60 cups of tea on a normal day, life without a teapot is rough. And the next few days will not be normal.
Within the hour right now I am about to go offline. If all goes well I will surface again tomorrow. If you don’t hear from me, well you know what happened and you you carry on and have an Irish weekend without me.
Anyway, on with the packing. I still haven’t packed any clothes, and I’ve about 75 paintings to pack safely also. Oh and look, as I turn towards the kitchen I see a fridge still covered in photos, art by many kids, and postcards. I better go get another box.

Better get two or three boxes. From past experience there’s always some more things lurking in a recess, ready to pop out just as the container pulls away.

I was wrong about the paintings - there was about 200 still to pack.
Primal - There was. And I had the boxes but not the energy. Exhaustion is a great decision maker.

Venus - Thank you very much. Although my stuff has gone, I still have a few days before I fly myself. The blogging will continue.
Zeta - To comply with regulations the dog will be catching a later flight than I, as in many weeks later. It’s not ideal but I believe it’s worth it.
