Irish Theatre Mangiare in University of Kansas
Mangiare Theatre Company in Ireland is currently holding a 3-day workshop at KU culminating in a performance of Michael West’s “A Play On Two Chairs” at 7:30pm on Friday, October 26th, 2007.
In Prague the play was described as “delightful, lively, very funny and very fast. Go see it!”.
Mangiare itself describes the play as a comic exploration of “a strange, co-dependent, bewitched couple who are trying to understand what modern love is all about” and suggests that you should “expect a hilarious, bizarre, and life-affirming comic escapade that will change the way you look at your furniture forever” - which should be persuasive enough for anybody.
Mangiare is able to visit Kansas courtesy of funding from the Kansas Arts Commission and Student Union Activities, and also from the Arts Council of Ireland.

Linking Ireland to Kansas is Jaimie Carswell, who is the founding director of Mangiare and a KU theatre alumnus. He performs A Play On 2 Chairs with Joanne Mitchell.
The name Mangiare is the Italian word for “to eat” and is a play on the theatre’s appetite to create. Established in Ireland in 2005, Mangiare has produced over 100 performances.
