Irish Roots Cafe Podcasts Launched
Over the weekend I listened to the first Irish genealogy podcast series recently launched from right here in Kansas City - the Irish Roots Cafe Podcast.
The series dates back from 1984 but has been converted into podcast format for your free pleasure in the 21st century. I found that the sound quality has held up fine over the years, and for those of you interested in your Irish ancestors and Irish heritage, you get some great advice on how to begin your search.
Even though the recordings predate the internet as we know it, most of the information is still very relevant and useful.
Michael O’Laughlin of the Irish Genealogical Foundation tells me that many Kansas City folks are also included in later episodes. The podcasts are available on iTunes (Irish Family Cafe); and from the Irish Roots home page at www.Irishroots.com
The Irish Genealogical Foundation also publish two newsletters - one online and one by regular mail. Both projects spring from their Irish rare book publishing program, which began in 1978.
From what I heard the podcasts are a great resource, and will likely save you a lot of time in your searching for family roots.
