Gaelic Storm
There’s two things I find really impressive about Gaelic Storm. The first was riding that gale of fame that their appearance in Titanic thrust upon them. But more impressive for me was staying up there and moving on. Nowadays Gaelic Storm are Gaelic Storm, not some band that was in some movie.
Earlier this year Gaelic Storm released their first DVD: Gaelic Storm: Live In Chicago - which was filmed live at the House of Blues in Chicago. And in late July their latest CD, Bring Yer Wellies, was released made it to #2 on The Billboard World Music Chart in its first week.
The uilleann pipes create a sound I like probably more than any other instrument (though banjo, fiddle, and the guitar we never admit to, take me places also) but the Highland Bagpipes in a band I really struggle with. That shouldn’t matter to you, as Gaelic Storm’s high energy traditional performances are loved by huge numbers of people.
