Ellis Island
Based in Nebraska, Ellis Island are an Irish trad duo ten years playing music.
Mick Doyle is a Dub schooled in Dublin’s legendary sessions at O’Donoghue’s and Mother Redcaps, and Dave Marsh is a multi-instrumentalist who has been playing Irish and international folk music for donkey’s years.
Mick and Dave are regulars at the Weston Irish Festival, and have also played the Kansas City Irish Festival, Sioux Falls Irish Festival, and the Omaha Irish Festival. As well as performing in the pubs of Omaha, Ellis Island regularly make trips to Weston and Kansas City.
For two people, you won’t hear a greater array of instruments. If you head to the boys’ MySpace page you’ll get a good idea of their range - from a classic singalong ballad like The Rare Ould Mountain Dew to the beautiful piping of Kevin’s Fancy.
