Eddie Delahunt in KC St Patrick’s Day/Week 2009
It’s rumoured by some that Eddie Delahunt invented St Patrick’s Day in Kansas City, and by others that he actually is St Patrick - have a look at the giveaway holding of his staff on the cover of an early album - (they weren’t called CDs back in Medieval Ireland).
Anyway, unless you’ve seen a be-beaded Eddie on a stool, have you really experienced St Patrick’s Day in the Kansas City area? They still talk about him out at WJ McBride’s, which is impressive when you consider MCBride’s hasn’t been around for years.
Before the big green day though, Eddie is as ever, quite busy:
On Saturday March 14, 2009 at 8pm Eddie Delahunt is performing at the Immaculata Highschool Auditorium, which is located at 600 Shawnee St in downtown Leavenworth, Kansas. For ticket information phone (913) 682 7801 or (913) 682 7045.
On Sunday, March 15, 2009 around 2pm-ish, Eddie is playing following the Shawnee St Patrick’s Parade. He is performing in the Knights of Columbus Hall by Johnson Drive and Neiman, which is where you’ll be if you’re at the parade.
On Monday, March 16, 2009, the eve of St Patrick’s Day, as mentioned earlier, Delahunt plays at the Downtown Marriott Hotel for the traditional Pre-St Patrick’s Party from 4:30 - 7:00.
And on Paddy’s Day itself, well have a look for Eddie & Friends in the Kansas City Parade, which as you know this year has moved so that it runs south down Broadway from 33rd, and ends in Westport.
