Cork Duo Concert at Delahunt’s KC Cafe
Cork’s favourite sons on tour in America, Jimmy Crowley and Máirtín de Cógáin are back playing in Kansas City.
You can see them perform at Eddie Delahunt’s Cafe & on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 7:30pm.
Máirtín de Cógáin, we have spoken about many times on Irish KC. The frontman of The Fuchsia Band had a fine habit of playing Luke Kelly songs at Kansas City gigs, just for myself. Because. And an almost equally endearing habit of sending me messages in the middle of the night. Nice messages of course.
And Jimmy Crowley is quite simply a legendary figure in the Irish folk scene, often much under-appreciated in the US.

Eolai I saw Jimmy and Mairtin in Branson on their tour last year and am wondering if they were going to make that a stop again if you know. Really enjoy your site and hope your mother is doing well.

The boys are scheduled to play in Jeff City on April 7th and an afternoon gig in St Louis on April 10th. The following evening their tour is is scheduled to do a Central Missouri Celtic Arts Association gig, when they play in Columbia (April 11th) - and that’s as close as they get to Branson this time, so fat as I know.

I heard a rumour ! unless I got it wrong that Mairtin & Jimmy got engaged in VG, or was it Mairtin & Mitra got engaged in Fiji ? The ould head ye know gets mixed up!. I’m looking forward to clearing this up when they come to the ‘Cafe &’. Maybe legendary Antrim Traditional Folksinger Len Graham can tell us when he arrives on his Songcatcher Tour to ‘Cafe &’ on Tue April 1st @ 7.30pm. Grind On, Eddie.
