A View of Ireland from the Kansas Lakes
Tomorrow the Lakes head back to Kansas. They’ve been in Ireland.
Cork and Kerry again are the chosen places that were toured.
Based in Cobh (pronounced “cove”) in Cork, the Lakes got around a fair bit of West Cork, Killarney, Dingle, Slea Head, and Blaney and Cork city of course.
And they got to go to the Munster final between Cork and Kerry too, no less. Gaelic Football we’re talking. The rain didn’t seem to upset them.
After the match, we drove on what I can very mildly say was a scenic drive. It may be the most beautiful place on Earth. It is called Salea head and it is a coastal drive. High cliffs, rocky beaches, the sea….it is really hard to describe it’s beauty or to capture it in pictures. The best part is that this whole area is very rural still and not overdeveloped. I fear that it will be some day. For now, it seems like untouched paradise.
