There’s a ridge of small mountains in north Donegal, more hills really, that runs in front of Muckish Mountain from Dunfanaghy to Falcarragh. Briefly I lived in a cottage nestled into that ridge, beside the gap through to Muckish and upper Derryreel, before the ridge fizzled out.
I always liked the view back to the ridge as you come out of Falcarragh on the old road east, with Muckish in the background looking the magnificent protecting pig that it is.
