The Wizards in Kansas
Speaking of soccer in the city, the Kansas City Star reports that the MLS is getting impatient with the Wizards not having their own stadium yet.
With talk of Philadelphia wanting a franchise, and Arrowhead being unavailable during renovations in 2007, well the pressure mounts on the Wiz, yet general manager Curt Johnson is making ominous noises saying it doesn't 'fall on the front office' but is a community asset and we all have to work together to help make sure this team stays in Kansas City.
Great, so even though everybody and their mother, even my mother in Ireland knows, that it's Johnson County that goes to watch the Wizards, and that the Wizards should be in a stadium in JoCo right now thriving, it'll probably end up costing people in KC who give not a toss about soccer.
I like the way Johnson County Commissioner Dave Lindstrom is not worried that nobody will lift a finger in time to keep the team in the region: I don’t know what to gauge it against, but I do think things are moving forward
