Petition to Document Illegal Experiences
I need to read more on this because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense just in the bare bones report in the Indo
The Irish Voices petition being launched today aims to document stories and experiences of illegal Irish and is expected to be forwarded to US politicians. Why?
The scheme is part of efforts to pressure the US Government into regularising the status of the estimated 50,000 undocumented Irish immigrants in America. Due to their illegal status, these people risk being prevented from returning to their lives in the US if they ever decide to visit their home countryI was illegal. I knew I was illegal. I knew there were repercussions for making the choice of being illegal. Should I have documented my fear of the repercussions and used that documentation to complain about the repercussions?
