Actor who is Irish is not Irish Actor
If you're following the Cannes Film Festival, you'll notice that so far all things Barley are creating more of a buzz than the other contenders for the Palme d'Or.
The Kansas City Star via AP today features Batman's recent nemesis, Scarecrow Cillian Murphy who hails from fellow cast-member, Mairtin's neck of the Irish woods, Cork:
I think it's important to look beyond your Irishness, said Murphy, now living in London. Liam Neeson said to me once, 'I'm not an Irish actor. I'm an actor who's Irish.' See what I mean? There's a distinction there, so you can go and play other parts, play American, play British. It's important to do thatI think Liam was messing with Cillian's head, but then again I'm a blogger who's Irish, not an Irish blogger, so what would I know?
