Happy Birthday to The Fuchsia Band
Today marks the second birthday of the astronomically-rising Kansas City Irish Fest performers The Fuchsia Band, and they get to celebrate it tonight in Cork city in Ireland playing support to the holy grail of so many Irish Festivals, The Saw Doctors.
Máirtín de Cógáin confirms that the month of gigs in McGurks over St Louis way is no longer on the cards - and frankly McGurks are stark raving mad, not realizing the gold that they had in their hands. But The Fuchsia Band are planning on a big summer schedule nonetheless, with Ireland/Europe scheduled for June, and over here in the States for all of August and September - when they play Kansas City's Irish Fest.
Meanwhile they have to jet off to Italy, to play in a castle in Tuscany later this month. All seems well in Fuchsialand.
Handy Irish Phrase: Ní fhanann trá le fear mall (A receding tide does not wait for a slow man)
