Minnesota: Land of 10000 mosquito-breeding lakes. I looked like the victim of a medieval plague. My mosquito bites looked like pink fried eggs and unless I slathered myself in DEET which is the worst smelling chemical you can apply to human skin, including Poison by Dior, I couldn't be outside for 5 minutes and not get bitten at least once. And the itch was crazy-making. Like yourself, the only cure I ever found for it was to move 1000s of miles away. When I lived in the Midwest I had the same problem.
